The Bureau of Labor Statistics in the U.S. Department of Labor issued an employment report last week

The Bureau of Labor Statistics in the U.S. Department of Labor issued an employment report last week indicating U.S. employers added 243,000 jobs in February and average hourly pay posted the largest annual increase in 4-1/2 years. The monthly report showed the unemployment rate at 4.7 %.

Is this good news for the economy? Describe how fiscal policy(taxes and government spending) has played a role in stimulating the economy over the last 3 years.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics in the U.S. Department of Labor issued an employment report last week.?mortgage loan

Fiscal policy=

1. increase/decrease in taxes both for consumers and businesses. Were there new incentives for business that the government offered?

2. Government spending- subsidies, infrastructure spending, etc.. that will help businesses grow- and therefore increase jobs. War also creates jobs.

3. Interst rates (although monetary, not fiscal)- they were so low (which is expansionary) and corporations could borrow more at a low interst rate- that creates incentives to invest and build, and therefore create jobs.

One thing to check is the 243,000 jobs- check whether that%26#039;s non farm only- you want to make sure it%26#039;s the services and manufacturing sectors.

The conservative administration is focused on helping industry (business) and they have created many incentives to boost growth.

No responses?

I have a resume posted on line, It%26#039;s been spelled checked for errors and proof read. I see that employer%26#039;s are looking at it, but I%26#039;am not getting any result%26#039;s. Could it be because of the state that I%26#039;am living in has such a high unemployment rate at this time compared to the rest of the country.

Is your resume marketable enough?

No responses? loan

Yes probably. Don%26#039;t forget that they do background checks mate :)|||You may see activity on your resume, but it could be that recruiting firms or temp agency%26#039;s are viewing it. I find it seldom that company%26#039;s actually review resumes online and contact people this way.

The unemployment rate may contribute to not being called as well, depending on the line of work you are looking for verses what industry you have near you.

Contact the local placement agency and see what they have to say. It certainly can not hurt you.|||Could be, it could also be that your resume sucks, it could be that you are overqualified or under qualified, it could be that they are other resumes that are just better then yours, it could also be that no one is calling anybody in the first place.

My advice is, if you have a chance to see who and what is getting posted besides yours then you know your competition. Look at theirs and you will see why no one is calling you.|||I%26#039;m not surprised. You need to submit it to each of the companies you want to apply to.

People are lazy. The HR people get enough unsolicited resumes that they don%26#039;t need to gather more.

It%26#039;s been my experience that you have to be pro-active. It%26#039;s your career - you have to manage it.

Good luck.|||get out there. move yourself. It%26#039;s an economy where if you don%26#039;t do it yourself no one will do it for you. If I was hiring I don%26#039;t want to waste my time searching, I have other things to do. If you are interested YOU come to me.|||It could be a lot of things....where you live being one, how open you are to relocation, whether you requrie sponsorship to work in the U.S., and whether or not you have the skills required to perform the job that the employer has available.

You may also want to consider posting under different subheaders or keywords - maybe you should be listing under Finance instead of Purchasing, for example. Look at the types of work you%26#039;ve performed and see what keywords an employer might search to find you, then list your resume appropriately.

Why are you a conservative/liberal?

Just curious what made you one...was it your upbringing, your religion, or something else?

For me religion is a big reason, but another reason is I live in Michigan, which is a blue state, and it has like 2nd highest unemployment rate in the country and it%26#039;s full of a bunch of lazy people who refuse to get a job.

Why are you a conservative/liberal?unsecured loan

I am conservative and blame it entirely on a high IQ and a willingness to believe in the individuals right to succeed without the need to have a village raise my children for me.

Why are you a conservative/liberal? loan

Conservative... i think it was my upbringing... but mostly because to me liberalism just doesnt make sense.|||I think it might have been the quote my father told me that made me a Democrat:

%26quot;You can trust a Republican with everything except public office.%26quot;|||I am a Liberal.

I was raised in a Conservative, Southern Baptist home. And I used to hear my parents and grandparents talk about their values, and I couldn%26#039;t help but to think, %26quot;this isn%26#039;t right%26quot;. Especially on issues like gay marriage and abortion.

So... I%26#039;ve always been Liberal.|||Conservatives believe in winning. Liberals believe in taking their clothe off, reading scripts written by someone else and being politicians....oops maybe I meant Movies Stars?|||I am a liberal because I believe that people are more important than money, and with the trend in conservativism continuing where it%26#039;s headed, we%26#039;re going to end up in colonial England again, where our government spies on us and dips into our personal lives and dictates what religion we should practice.

I am a liberal because I believe in an individual%26#039;s right to govern his or her own life as he or she sees fit. These days, with neocons hijacking the Republican party, it seems like being a Republican means bigger, more intrusive government.

I miss the Republicans of the %26#039;80s.|||Conservative. I used to be a lot more moderate, but the more I%26#039;m exposed to the left, the more conservative I become. I live in a state where hunting, fishing, trapping, dog mushing, and yes, wearing (GASP) fur is part of everyday life and have been traditional here for THOUSANDS of years. Yet liberals are constantly harassing and often terrorizing law-abiding Americans who don%26#039;t share their %26quot;enlightened%26quot; point of view. And yes, I did say terrorism - the FBI agreed. Moderates who lean left, I%26#039;m fine with - I even have a lot of very liberal friends, but the far left scares the absolute hell out of me.|||i wish for the government to be applied conservatively not liberally. to me it is a matter of efficiency. there are certain coordinating efforts for which only a government can provide, like defending us from another country or on a local level, making a road. we cant do that for ourselves but it must be done. but because the government is necessarily adversarial and bureaucratic, it does so wastefully.|||I was brought up a staunch democrat. My dad and my brother would vote for Mickey Mouse if he was running on the democrat ticket.

I registered democrat because that%26#039;s what I thought I was suppose to do. When I started reading the issues I realized while I might have been a FDR, JFK democrat...the democrats of today do not represent me or anything I stand for. Therefore I now vote republican although I would vote for any candidate if I feel they are the right choice.|||I lean more liberal I also live in MI, my upbringing has little to do with my political viewpoints.|||I realized that you could be happier if you work hard, manage your money, play by the rules and pay your debts. Responsibility and integrity are essentials to being a happy, healthy person who is able to have or get what they want, without help from the government. The conservative lifestyle instills pride in accomplishment.|||I%26#039;m a liberal, but only because I%26#039;m labeled that way.

I believe homosexuals should have the same marital rights as anyone else.

I believe women should have be responsible for their own body and the decisions about what to keep or take out of it.

I believe Health Care and education should be a fundamental right AND a priority of any decent society.

I believe we need the government for some things, and that when we need it, it should have enough money to perform for us.

I believe some people need help, and I want to help them if I can. Sometimes government is the best way to help people.

I don%26#039;t believe that hatred is ever an excuse... even if a religion says it is.

I%26#039;m a liberal, because most people label me that way because of what I believe, I guess.|||My liberalism has nothing to do with my parents. My mother did influence my thinking though. It would have been hard not to since she has always been a news addict, sittin%26#039; in front of the TV talkin smack to Reagan when I was a kid.

In the kindergarten, we had a mock election day, and I was the only kid in my class to vote Carter.

I do not hold that my politics are 100% from my parents, as I now have lived long enough to see the world through my own eyes. However I do respect that they are religious people, who don%26#039;t vote based on that reason!

I try to involve my daughter in politics as much as possible, and am very proud that she knows about things that most her age don%26#039;t (mini liberal in training).

I will not be voting the same as my parents for primaries, and am debating whether to lock Mom in the closet to keep her from voting for HILLARY!!!

(she may be just trying to play with my head)|||all you have to do is read how people post on this site ..the hate and lies of the republicans seethes pigs blood upon the people of this country. while the democrates at least try to be civil.....its a no brainer......|||I have been a liberal since I went out in the real world, and discovered through my own experience, how hard life is, and how much of a struggle life is, for the poor and the working class. I also grew up in a middle class home, and I saw the snobbery that a majority of even middle class people can demonstrate. The gap between the rich and the poor keeps getting wider and wider. And, the older I get, the more my eyes open to the selfishness and the greed of the elite, as they get rich by exploiting the very people they are getting rich off of. You are judging people whose stories you know nothing about. But you think corporate welfare is perfectly okay! *sm*|||You actually think the unemployment rate is the RESULT of people being lazy?|||Where in Michigan are you ? I live in Michigan also the unemployed here are not lazy . Most have lost jobs in manufacturing which have moved to China . Families are losing their homes and health care. The jobs that are left are being taken by illegals with anchor babies. The new welfare queens. In my part of Michigan no one is refusing work. There is very little work available. This is comparable to the great depression.

Michigan does not need a illegal work program. We need a federal government that cares about the prosperity of it%26#039;s legal citizens.

I am neither conservative or liberal . In all future elections I will vote what is best for my pocket book.

I will vote for the candidate who cares about my economic future and the safety of my family.

America keeps sinking cause economy and the government aint thinking.?

America keeps sinking cause economy and the government aint thinking.? loan

where are you getting your numbers? jobless rate is actually falling... new jobs are being created every month... inflation is in check (except for gasoline prices), new home construction and sales continue to go up

where are you getting your facts?|||Unemployment rates are not rising. Where in the USA is the unemployment rate rising? Opinions are like a$$holes everyone has one, let%26#039;s see some numbers. Numbers don%26#039;t lie and are hard to spin. When I drive down the street here in Ohio all I see are signs that say Now Hiring Apply Within.|||Actually, for most of Bush%26#039;s Presidency, the job market has been growing. It has been expanding so fast that the Feds have been raising prime rates to help slow the growth down. Also, there needs to be always around 4-6% of the work force looking for jobs to have the right balance for industry to find the workers that they need. If we ever have 100% employment, than that means that there is no more jobs to be had. There will always be people entering the unemployment rate from either loss jobs or who are reentering it from sitting on the side lines. Also, I do not believe that it is the Government%26#039;s job to make sure that I am employed. Matter of fact, I would hate it because the job they find for me might not fit me and I would have my pay dictated to me no matter what I do. What you must be looking at is the large manufacturing jobs that are no longer competitive being reduced and other lower paying, more competitive jobs being created.

I really really need help on fund raising or making money??

I am 17 and I live in a VERRY VERRY small town. The unemployment rate is almost at the highest it has ever been and because of my age I am not allowed to do most jobs that are open in town. I will NEVER go back to fast food. I am by far to good for that. Also the fast food managers in this town are nasty and mean. I worked at Wendy鈥檚 for 9 months, most people last 4 weeks because the management is so bad. And from what every one has told me the only other place in town (McDonalds) is worse. But here is my problem I need at least $1,250 by this summer, and I need $550 by the first of June. I was accepted into a program a Christian camp that cost $750 just to go, and I have another program in 4-H that costs $250 and I need spending money to wash clothes and by food in between. Both programs are around the same time this summer (I have like 2 days in-between). I need to know what I can do for money and fund raising because my family is very poor and I can%26#039;t drive yet, dad%26#039;s rules.

%26quot;Is Michigan becoming the worst state to live in?%26quot;

No.

%26quot;We have the highest unemployment rate.%26quot;

Correct, perhaps. It is #1 or #2, up there with Mississippi. However, many places in Michigan, like West Michigan (Grand Rapids area), have a fairly low unemployment rate.

%26quot;Car insurance is really expensive here.%26quot;

It is about $140 more than the national average. About $12 per month. I wouldn%26#039;t say %26quot;really expensive%26quot;.

%26quot;There are few good jobs.%26quot;

Again, there are jobs in West Michigan.

A lot of states do. And, Michigan is far from the worse. Biggest losers in net migration since 2000:

1. New York 334,093 loss

2. Ohio 102,008 loss

3. Massachusetts 73,741 loss

4. Louisiana 69,373 loss

5. Illinois 63,011 loss

6. Michigan 42,183 loss

Considering that Michigan has 3,300 miles of shoreline, thousands of beaches, hundreds of islands, hundreds of waterfalls, thousands of acres of dunes, 11,000 inland lakes, millions of acres of forests, and the oldest mountains in North America, I%26#039;d say it is a great place to live. Perhaps that is why 10,120,860 call Michigan home.

Yup, it is. I don%26#039;t think it is becoming, it has always been the worst state. It offers absolutly nothing. It%26#039;s freezing cold, the people are boring,snobby,and conceded, and the land is completly flat. I want to live there about as much as I want a root canal....no thanks. Report It

Is FOXNEWS campaigning for McCain?

FOXNEWS has over the election months shown both candidates Obama and Clinton in the most negative image; by portraying McCain in the most positive image. McCain is a part of the Bush administration; America has the highest historical unemployment rate since the depression, and the economic plan issued by Bush administration was not supported by McCain eight months ago. Now he is supporting the plan, saying to it is the most sound for Americans at this time. I surely hope we do not allow media to pick the next President of the United States; because FOXNEWS carries the same ideology as a common right wing cult. God Bless America...
